I recently realized not many people are using PLR… And was wondering – are you?

If you are scratching your head, let me tell you first that PLR means “Private label rights”.

Technically you buy content someone else wrote and you own it.

I won’t make this complicated, it is very simple! You need to start using PLR.

And not only that, but with PLR, you can actually make money!

How to choose PLR

As with everything else, you need to do a bit of research about where you want to get the PLR from. I took some advice from friends using it and started buying it from sites they recommend. Here and there, I would run into something new, buy a cheap package or set of articles just to see how good is the quality and decide if I will continue using them or not.

Another thing I pay attention to when it comes to the source of PLR is what they put out. Some sites focus on internet marketing while some have all topics you can need. Considering I have some niche sites, I need content for much more than internet marketing

Also, see how many packages will be sold. Some sites limit to 150 customers per package. That means only 150 people will have the same content as you. Considering less than 10% of customers actually use it (according to some polls), you really won’t have competition with it.

Why buy PLR

Because it is a very cheap way to get your hands on quality content. Yes, I did say “quality”. I am not talking about 100 PLR articles for $2. I am talking about packages being published from serious authors, and there are many of those.

PLR will also save you a lot of time. Let’s say you are putting out a course on Facebook and you are targeting advanced users. By including some basic tutorials about Facebook, you will extend the reach of your product and at the same time allow people to catch up if they missed a feature or two. Instead of writing page after page of basic Facebook content, you can simply buy it. You can probably get great written content for about $10. Isn’t that worth a few days of your time?

How to make money with PLR

So you decided you want to start buying PLR and you found where you will buy it from. Time to put it to good use. First of all, unlike most people, you need to actually use it!

Depending on the source of the PLR and what you get in the package, you can buy a whole product along with promotional material.

Here is the big thing that is probably bothering you at the moment. No, this isn’t cheating. Because to use the PLR package properly, you need to read through it, edit it and make it yours! If you don’t want to, you don’t even have to claim that you are the author. Just put “brought to you by” and people will understand you didn’t write it. Then use the promotional material to make Youtube videos to promote your product.

There are many different ways to use PLR but the main thing is that you can buy a complete product and sell it. Editing and adding to make it yours will still take less time than writing it from scratch.

I use it in several ways for my niche sites: to add content to my autoresponder email sequence, add fresh content, create opt in “bribes”, make promotional and affiliate videos, etc. And it works. Because there are not many people that buy PLR and use it. Most just buy it and let it sit unused on their computers.

So simply putting a little bit of money and time into your business will allow you to have products ready to go out fast. It is up to you to make it into a quality product by adding your voice to it and possibly adding some of your tips to the “general story” in the PLR. Even if you don’t feel like making money from these types of products, you can always create free reports for your email list or autoresponder series.
