I hate to be the one to tell you this, but we were wrong about the end of the world.
I know we all know that this year, on December 21, the world as we know it will cease to exist.
Nostradamus predicted it and he has never been wrong, as indicated by the recent increase in bomb shelter purchases and the lack of people signing up for long-term loans (or increase in people scamming long-term financing offers, whatever).
But Nostradamus had his calculations off and the end of the world is actually much sooner than anyone expected. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the world will actually end next Monday.
I know you weren’t prepared for this and there’s a lot of things you need to do before that time comes, but the first thing we need to take care of is to write your best blog posts and have them ready for your readers.
You want to go out on a high note, right? It’s time to get your priorities straight.
Stop Idea Hoarding
Sure, when the end of the world comes you want to have stocked up on milk, bottled water and video games (the essentials), but it seems like most people tend to stock up and hoard their best blog post ideas for some undisclosed date or time in the future.
Well, the end of the world is nigh and there’s no use hoarding those great blog post ideas anymore because after next Monday, no one will be around to read them.
So sit down right now and write the best blog post you’ve ever written. Write that blog post from the idea that still gives you shivers thinking about how good it is that you just haven’t written yet because “the timing wasn’t right” or you were simply scared.
You want to remembered, right?
Unlock that locked drawer to your office and smooth out the napkin that the golden idea is written on and craft that post that will make us all say “Godin who?” We want to read it and remember you for your brilliance, not just the mediocre stuff you put out to “stay on schedule.”
The Next End of the World
And if by some miracle the world doesn’t end next monday at exactly 1:32 PM, then Nostradamus must have miscalculated (it’s easy to do) and the world will DEFINITELY end the following Monday, so sit down and write your next greatest idea to follow up the first one and post that.
You have to keep up that string because the world is definitely going to end that next Monday, so you better go out with a bang.
The end of the world is a hard thing to calculate, so always make sure that the post you’re writing is the best post you can write, because you just never know when the world is going to end, except for this time, because it will end next Monday as we’ve already discussed.
You may not like me telling you to get rid of all your best post ideas and you can be as mad at me as you’d like, I don’t care. The world is ending next Monday, after all.
Thoughts?
