Give Your Children Away

Conception.

Something beautiful happened and after a time of growth will be introduced to the world.

You’ll work harder and longer than you ever have before, but will be strangely more fulfilled.

You become attached.

You’ve watched them grow and for the first part of their existence, their survival has relied completely upon you and your efforts.  How natural it feels that they are in fact an extension of yourself.

Life.

Now comes the time to give your children away.  Those children you have labored over: that ebook, that perfect post, that series, that training session. It’s true that with more time they could be more prepared, bigger, stronger; but the time is now to give them away.

Their life is not with you anymore, their life exists among the people they can influence, reach and educate.

How much good will they do in the world?  Will they live up to your expectations?  That is for their life to decide now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help them along the way.

But right now….

Let them go.
