For most bloggers, having and using an email list is one of the key ways to monetize their blogs.
From special offers on behalf of affiliate partners to selling ebooks or webinars, “The List” is everything. Without it, you may as well be trying to keep a match lit in outer space (I haven’t tried this, so I’m relying on science here!).
So, if the list is everything, how can you make sure you’re massaging yours properly?
A new infographic from Prestige Marketing offers some best practices with the aim of answering these questions. For example:
- 30% of subscribers change their email yearly, so you need to be on top of your list management.
- The best subject lines are under 50 characters.
- 69% of recipients will report email as spam when the words “sale” and “cash” are in the message header.
- 55% of recipients will forward an email with a coupon or promotion attached.
As you can see just from these snippets, you can immediately start to improve your own marketing efforts with your blog subscriber list, just by optimizing message and list management.
